Not married as of November 20, 1919
known as Jim
Aunt Dorothy said she had heard that Uncle Jim went to Italy to dispose of their properties and was sadly disappointed to find that the Government had appropriated all of their holdings. He returned with very little to show for his troubles. She had heard that they owned a great deal of property at one time, and they also owned miles of grape arbors in their hometown.
had a trucking company in NY- may have been called T&T Trucking
he didn't like the name Vizo Augusto so when he married he changed his name to James Peter per Vizo's sister in law.
Vzo Augusto means Vincenzo of August; he left the port of Naples, Italy on the SS Scindia and arrived in the US on February 21, 1897. James traveled with his mother Maria, his sister Elizabeth 17 years old, his brothers Luigi, age 11, and hsi brother Pietro, age 7 to the USA. They were met by their father, Benedetto Tuccinardi. The family traveled under their mother's maiden name Corpolongo- a custom in those days. This was not the first time Maria traveled to the US. She also came in 1894 and later in 1907. At the time they arrived in the USA, none of them could read or write. We know that Pietro later returned to Italy twice and then came back ot he USA, once in 1910 and then in 1920. Luigi returned to Italy and then came back to the USA in 1912. I could not find any other records of Andrew, Maria, James Peter or their father Benedetto returning to Italy. We could assume the Andrew, being the oldest boy, traveled with his parents to the USA in 1894, and stayed here with his father while his mother returned to Italy to get the other children.
In April, 1921, James Peter rented a blind horse ( a true story) and borrowed a wagon and started T & T Company- later to be called T & T Trucking & Transport Corp. In 1957, he started J & M Carriers (Contract Carriers) and J7 M Leasing Corp., (Truck Leasing). In 1955, he added Norso Reality as holder of properties. In 1975, Inter Costal Lines (Coast to Coast Operation) was added to the corporation.
On May 5, 1914, James submitted his Declaration of Intention NO26654 to become a citizen of the USA. At this time, he used his new name James Peter. On May 7, 1918, he became a citizen of the US- Cert. No 906559. On April 29, 1928- on his marriage certificate to Concetta Ialongo, his name appeared as Vincenzo Tuccinardi. On September 18, 1929, the day his son James was born, his name appeared as James Tuccinardi on James junior's Birth Certificate. At this time their address was 4318 49th Street, Sunnyside, New York.
on the Declaration of Intention it states: that he is 18, color white, complexion dark, height 5'7", weight 150 lbs., brown hair, brown eyes.

Before me Giovanni Maccarrone Notary Public in the City of NY County of NY, in my office at 267 Elizabeth St. have appeared: Mr. D'angelo Vincenzo son of the late Michele, age 60 born in Marineo, Palermo resident at 267 Elizabeth St.; Mr. Tosca Giovanni son of the late Francesco, age 59 born in Bassano Veneto resident at 192 Bleecker St.; Mr. Manzi Michele son of Antonio, age 36 born in Itri Caserta resident at 223 East 22nd St.; Mr. Nicolosi Francesco son of the late Antonino, age 30 born in Marineo resident at W. 76 E. 3rd St. All of the above mentioned are Italian Citizens, residing here, known by me, Notary Public, qualified and with no conflict of interest in this act, after being properly admonished and instructed they have been sworn in with the words:" I swear to tell the truth and nothing but the truth." Therefore, under oath, they have unanimously, declared the following: We have known, for several years, Mr. Tuccinardi Benedetto, son of the late Andrea Tuccinardi, born on the 15th of March 1849 in Itri (Caserta) and his family which includes: his wife Corpolongo Maria daughter of the late Corpolongo Giuseppe, born in 1855 in Itri (Caserta). Son Tuccinardi Andrea (father Benedetto) born in Itri (Caserta) August 1884, died during the War in the year 1917. He was a soldier in the 1st Regiment of Engineers 2nd Company. Tuccinardi Luigi (son of Benedetto) born in Itri in 1887 and now a resident of Hoboken, NJ married with 3 children (all minors); Tuccinardi Vincenzo (son of Benedetto) born in Itri (Caserta) in the year 1895 and now resideing here, not married; Tuccinardi Elisabetta (daughter of Benedetto) born in Itri (Caserta) in the year 1881 and now residing in NY. Widow with 4 children (all minors); Tuccinardi Civita (daughter of Benedetto) born in NY in the year 1889 and here residing and not married. We can testify that the only means of support for old Tuccinardi and his wife and the widow Tuccinardi Elisabetta was the son Tuccinardi Andrea, bachelor, who died during the war defending his country and without him they are in very poor economic conditions. I,Notary Public, have prepared this statement, as requested, it has been written down by a person I trust and after reading it to all persons here present and declared by them as being conforme to their will was signed by everybody and last by me.
