| Text | 4607 Wells picture of Samuel’s home- note says that the barn behind the house in the 1920’s converted into five car garage stalls for automobiles and rented to neighbors, garages not being usual in those days. Those renters called themselves “Gasoline Alley” after the comic strip. Barn was later moved onto 104th street, west side, brick veneered, Dutch Colonial style. The 1893 Chicago World’s Fair Ticket Office was bought by Samuel as a play house for his children. | |
